Last August as I prepared to leave for 11 months my sister, mother and I went for pedicures.

Usually the conversation consists of what you want done to your nails in a whole lot of broken English.

Except this specific time I had Ukena. Ukena was interested in my trip and asked all the questions because you do not usually hear about someone leaving the country for 11 months to travel to 11 countries. The deal was that when I came home I would go back and tell her all about it.

So of course I did.

She remembered me and we reminisced and caught each other up on the last year of our lives. Praising Jesus for the amazing ways He worked and things we learned. I told her that I would be leaving for five more months to lead a squad on the same trip.

Ukena looked me in the eyes and said “ I want to serve you with pedicures and manicures.”

Ukena took September 15th off to come to my house, charge 25 dollars for shellac manicures, 30 dollars for pedicures and donate all the money to my trip. Her heart is filled with Jesus and I see it in the way she interacts with her clients and selflessly gives and serves her community.

It is crazy to see how the Lord works in the most creative and unexpected ways. I have three slots(9am 12:30pm and 4:30pm) left and if you would like to schedule an appointment please let me know.

Other Updates:

I am currently sitting in an airport after traveling to DC to see friends. I am headed home until the 29th of September and then to Gainesville Georgia for more training before flying out of the states on October 8th. It’s all coming real fast and I’m beyond excited after meeting my squad and seeing who I will do life with for the next 5 months. I plan to post a more detailed blog about training camp and my life so be on the look out.

I would love for you to consider donating to my blog and continue praying as I prepare to leave again!
