It is All Squad Month. That means 45 of us are living together under one roof in a ministry home. If we are being honest we have been extremely blessed this month with a shower, washer, dryer, mattress and cool weather. I wanted to do something a little different and just show you what an average day for this girl looks like with some details involved. I am 6,650 dollars away from being fully funded and I would love your support with prayers, sharing and if you want to join this great mission of spreading Kingdom, you can donate through my blog page.
7:00 AM I wake up and see this beautiful sunrise at least three times a week.
I run over to the track to work out with some of my squad mates. This month I set three intentions.
My first was to be better about my physical self. This includes working out often and watching what I put into my body.
Then comes some good quiet time with Jesus.
My second intention I set this month was to make sure I had time with Jesus everyday and did not let busyness distract our quality time.
From 9:00-11:00am we pray, worship and have sessions as a squad.
11:00am-1:00pm we have team time, free time and lunch before heading to ministry. Lunch usually looks like sandwiches, fruit and chips. We have a 5 dollar a day budget per person so this is the easiest and cheapest option.
1:00pm-6:00pm we are doing ministry within the city of Alba Iulia.
This month my team was placed with Hospice Eliana. This is a hospice located in a nearby village. They do not make their clients pay for health care but will take donations. Due to this, they often do not have the funds to pay their workers so they are starting a second hand store. Similar to Goodwill, you will be able to donate clothes, furniture or whatever else so others can buy it. Then they will have the funds to pay workers and get materials they need. We just finished putting in the floor yesterday for this shop and hope to have it completed by October 1st when we leave.
6:00pm-7:00pm we have squad dinner, and if you are lucky enough, you may get a shower in this time. Two teams each night cook for all 45 people on the squad. You get $90.00 USD to cook dinner, and usually we are under budget!!
After 7:00pm we occasionally have night sessions but mostly free time. Free time looks really different depending on who you are.
Sometimes it is taking your teammates braids out for hours with the help of the squad.
Sometimes it is checking out the nearby Fortress and being amazed by all the history it has to offer.
Sometimes it is sitting on abandoned buildings looking over the city.
My third intention was to spend time with my squad and be more intentional.
This month has taught me how much of an introvert I truly am but it has been a beautiful month of growth in my spiritual walk.
Thank you all for following this journey and I cannot wait to continue to share the next 9 months!!
