Hey all,
Honestly I just wanted to update all of you more than any creative writing tonight.
We arrived yesterday at 6pm. We unfortunately lost our luggage on our transit here and would love prayers for our bags to show up soon.
Today we met with our ministry host to get a better idea on our role while we are here.
Y’all, I feel like I’ve been smiling ear to ear this whole day and have been able to see the Lords goodness over and over again.
Three main areas Hope Church is currently helping with.
- Transportation-This includes transportation from Ukraine to different countries, depending on where people are trying to move to. In addition to this, Hope Church is taking vans loaded with supplies to the border weekly.
- Long Term Refugees- Hope Church currently has four houses and are working on a fifth house to host refugees that have decided to stay here in Romania. Each house has a designated volunteer that takes care of the refugees in side which includes me! Whatever needs they have from water, medicine, paperwork or more, I will be helping the refugees in my designated home.
- Short Term Refugees- Hope Church takes in refugees who are just passing through on their way to another country. These refugees stay for a few nights before heading to their final destination. Myself and EmJay will be in charge of the intake process. This includes collecting documents, finding out where they are going, who they know in the country they are going and providing their essential needs. Hope Church has a designated area filled with food, clothes and toiletries that the refugees instantly can pick through when they complete the intake process.
I am soooo thankful to be partnered with this church and be able to serve and build relationship with the refugees.
Life Update: Due to the outstanding support I am fully funded, have my bills paid for the month, $700 extra dollars to spend on the refugees and an incredible job I’m able to come back to when I’m back in America. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
